Javid Beigh demands re-imposition of strict lockdown to prevent further spread of COVID-19

Says, "Now or never", Urges LG Admin to act swiftly as things can go horribly wrong in approaching winter


Srinagar, July 11 ( RNA): Concerned over the soaring number of Covid cases in Kashmir, Senior JKAP leader and former MLA Javid Hassan Beigh has Urged LG administration to consider a strict lockdown for atleast a month  in entire valley and said the winter would be approaching in a couple of months and if the pandamic was not checked now, it would create mayhem in the valley during the cold season .
In a statement to RNA, Beigh said that the rise in civid cases and subsequent deaths was a matter of serious concern and suggested that a new spell of lockdown seemed the only way to block the virus from wreaking havock here. The JKAP leader further said that after September the weather will change in valley and the temperatures would fall considerably which would make things more worse for the people and the adminstration alike. He said during the winter cough, Cold and other such flues are common in valley and if the COVID continued to remain unchecked, the people of Kashmir will have a very terrible situation to face. According to Beigh, this is the time when administraion has to explore all its resources and avenues to flatten the CoVID Cure and stressed that immediate lockdown was key to its success. He urged LG Administrative to act wisely and utalise the time available till september end to prevent a major catastprphy during the winter peeiod .
Besides lockdown, Beigh also suggested launching a massive drive for COVID tests and said the govermment should not waste time and act swiftly.RNA
