SSP Srinagar starts " Women Safety Drive" on Int'l women's day

Srinagar, March 08 ( RNA): SSP Srinagar Dr M Haseeb Mughal-JKPS  Monday started _Women Safety Drive_ when the whole world is celebrating International Women's Day. March 08 is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity, to celebrate women's achievements. The 2021 UN theme for International Women's Day is "Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world", highlighting the impact that girls and women worldwide had as health care workers, caregivers, innovators and community organizers during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

SSP Srinagar while addressing media on the sidelines of the event said that today we celebrate the women's achievements and raise awareness among public about the honor & dignity of a woman and her ease of living at work place, in transit to work place or home. We must make it clear that any act of eve teasing or harassment shall be dealt strongly and any violation warrants a severe punishment under law. Our endeavor is to make Srinagar a safe city with regard to the Women Safety and their ease of living.

SSP Srinagar also added that recently we have inaugurated a 24×7 Women Help Desk and Counseling Hall at PS Women Rambagh so that any aggrieved women can reach out to police for help in case of domestic violence or in need of any kind of police intervention.

SSP Srinagar was flanked by SP East Zone City Srinagar, SDPO Kothibagh, SHO Kothibagh and other officers of the District in reaching out to the public and pasted stickers in public transport to aware and educate public about the Women Safety.
