" Callous approach" towards the plight of casual/ Contractual workers unacceptable: Javid Beigh

Srinagar, March 19 ( RNA): Asking Lt. Governor to show sensitivity towards the plight of casual, daily rated and consolidated workers engaged in different departments, Senior Apni Party leader and former MLA Javid Hassan Beigh Saturday said that , " Callous approach towards these poor people " won't work, urging government to be " humane" while dealing with their issue. Speaking to RNA, Mr. Beigh while lauding the contribution of these temporary employees towards society said that time has come when government should re-pay to them instead of leaving them isolated and helpless.

" You have snowfall, rains , hot weather days, these contractuals, daily wagers are there to fix your water pipelines, electric lines, roads, bridges, hospitals , forests and much more." Beigh said while refering to the work the daily wagers do in their respective departments. He however, said that despite all the hardwork, they have been getting meagre amount as remuneration but what has now complicated their plight is that Government is advertising the posts and recruiting fresh candidates leaving them helpless. He urged Lt. Governor to not allow buracucates to be " callous" on the issue and asked , " What is the difference between the previous governments which -they blame have not done enough for the people- and this one which doesn't seem willing to do enough for them either ." Javid Beigh told RNA. He  appealed LG to consider their confirmation so that they do not suffer any more.
