Action plans prepared for Jal Jeevan Mission in Bandipora Should Be Reviewed: Usman Majid
Former Minister & Vice President Jammu Kashmir Apni Party Usman Majid said that the mandatory action plans for bringing safe drinking water through individual tap connections to all rural households under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) should have been prepared with the consultation of local elected representatives.
Majid said the action plans prepared by the Jal Shakti Department for the rural areas of Bandipora will fail to provide the portable drinking water to the rural population of district Bandipora as the implementation support agencies had formulated the plans without taking the local population on board.
Majid Said that the JJM action plans will fail to enthuse stakeholders as it was prepared with no public participation and consultation with the stakeholders. The concerned department in Bandipora has dismayed stakeholders whose grievances were not take into consideration before preparing the action plans of JJM for the rural areas of Bandipora.
Majid hai expressed his dissatisfaction over the tardy works of the concerned department. He said that lack of planning in formulation of action plans is evident, while advised the officials of the department and the district administration to approach the local representatives to review and formulate the action plans.
Usman Majid sought immediate intervention of LG Manoj Sinha in this regard so that new action plan should be formulated with the consultation of all stakeholders so that the proper action plan should be made and no one is left out from getting the portable drinking water.
