KULGAM, OCTOBER 07: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to take a detailed review of the Industries and Commerce Department (District Industries Centre) Kulgam.
 
General Manager, DIC, Kulgam, Shabnum Rasheed briefed the chair regarding the industrial profile of the district. 
 
She informed the chair that there are 329 functional units engaged in different lines of activities providing employment to more than 2000 persons.
 
The General Manager gave the brief description regarding the schemes and incentives provided under Central and UT Industrial Policies, which includes 50 percent subsidy on plant and machinery, 6 percent interest subvention on term loan, 5 percent interest subvention on working capital, 100 percent subsidy on installation of D.G. Set, 100 percent subsidy on installation of testing lab, 60 percent subsidy on pollution control devices and 35 percent subsidy on project cost (under PMEGP Scheme). 
 
The General Manager also informed the chair that a land bank of 1300 kanals is available in the form of 09 industrial estates. 
 
The chair was also informed that land appraisal for the industrial estates Bathipora and Chakpora-Bemdora have already been done for 70 applications including 32 applications for C.A Stores.
 
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer, Power Development Department to complete the power setup for all industrial estates at an earliest. 
 
The meeting was attended by ADC, ACR, Executive Engineers of PDD, JKPCC and other officers.
