DLSA Udhampur educates district jail inmates about their rights

 

UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 07: District Legal Services Authority(DLSA), Udhampur, under the guidance of its Chairman, today organized a Legal Awareness Programme on the rights of Prisoners here at District Jail in connection with the Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign and under aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

 

The Programme was inaugurated by the Secretary DLSA Udhampur. The Secretary interacted with the Prisoners and informed them about their fundamental and Legal rights enshrined in the constitution of India. The Secretary also enquired about the grievances of the Prisoners. The Secretary was accompanied by the Panel Lawyers of DLSA, who also interacted with the jail inmates and made them aware of the Legal provisions provided by the Criminal Procedure Code.

 

The Panel Lawyers made the jail inmates aware about the latest Court rulings upholding the welfare of the Prisoners. The Programme was also attended by Superintendent of Jail, Harish Kotwal.

 

Chairman, TLSC, Ramnagar, Smriti Sharma (Sub Judge), Chairman TLSC Chenani, Amandeep kour (Munsiff), Chairman TLSC Majalta Priyanka Mahajan (Munsiff) joined the programme through virtual mode.
