Basharat Bukhari bereaved by demise of Mohammad Afzal Rather from Kandi, Sangrama
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples' Conference senior leader on saturday expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Mohammad Afzal Rather alias Ablaala of Takia Yusuf Shah, Kandi Sangrama.
In his condolence message, Bukhari said that Afzal sahib was a fatherly figure to him who will be remembered for his selflessness in serving the people of Kandi.
"Ablaala was great human and and decent gentleman. Besides, he was a prominent political and social activist who tirelessly advocated the issues of his people for more than 50 years. He was instrumental in articulating the problems of the people in Kandi", he said
Bukhari said that he is highly indebted to Afzal sahib for his guidance and helping him identify the problem areas in Kandi area.
"I have lost a fatherly figure, a companion and a friend. Afzal sahibs demise has left a void which will be difficult to fill. I am indebted to him for his support and guidance during my career. Allah bless his soul with choicest blessings - Ameen", he added.
