UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 13: District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur, today organized an awareness campaign on the Child Rights and Rights of Senior Citizens here through Virtual Mode.
 
Organized in connection with the Pan India Awareness and Outreach Campaign launched under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the campaign was held under the guidance of the DLSA Chairman .
 
The DLSA Udhampur organized two programmes on the subject one on the “Rights of children” was organized through virtual mode and another programme was organized physically at Old Age Home Udhampur. The participants of the programmes included Superintendent, Nari Niketan, Pankaj Sharma; Superintendent, Bal Ashram, Yashpal Sharma and President, Old Age Home Udhampur, Jugal Kishore Gupta.
 
The participants of the Webinar also include Children and Women Inmates of Nari Nketan, Udhampur. The Resource Persons of the Programme were Panel Lawyers Advocate Pawan Gupta, Advocate Akhil Dubey, and Advocate Mallikarjun Singh Slathia.
 
The Resource Persons highlighted the issues faced by the Children and deliberated on the Protection of Children and their Legal Rights.
 
The Programme was also joined virtually by Chairman, TLSC Ramnagar, Smriti Sharma (Sub Judge); Chairman TLSC, Chenani, Amandeep Kour (Munsiff); Chairman, TLSC Majalta Priyanka Mahajan (Munsiff) and all Panel Lawyers with all PLVs of DLSA Udhampur.
 
Later the DLSA Secretary along with the Resource Persons visited the Old Age Home, Udhampur and interacted with Old Age Home Inmates and made them aware about the rights guaranteed to the Senior Citizens by the Constitution of India. 
 
The Resource Persons made the participants aware about various Welfare Schemes pertaining to senior citizens.
 
The programme was also attended by President Old Age Home Udhampur, Jugal Kishore Gupta. The Secretary DLSA, while thanking the Old Age Home Inmates and the other participants threw light on the Rights of the Senior Citizens in the society and stressed upon the need to safeguard all basic rights which are vital to a human life especially to Senior Citizens.
