After Toll Free Number, J&K Students Association launches special helpline Numbers for students of J&K, Ladakh to Address their Grievances

 

Says Students can call the helpline incase of harassment, or any insecurity across the Country

 

These helpline numbers will be manned and regulated by dedicated counsellors & grievance redressal attendants

 

 

 

Oct 15: J&K Students Association here today launched a Country Wide special helpline numbers for the students of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh regions to address students' grievances. In a Statement National spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said that students of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh facing problems relating to their college campuses anywhere in the country can call on the newly launched 5 Special numbers (6006506230, 6006506231, 6006506232, 6006506233, 6006506234), register their complaints and get their problems addressed.

 

He said that, this initiative is another major step by association for the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir Ladakh students. Students can lodge their grievances including those related to their campus or any other types of issues so that meaningful solution can be found with respective state governments and university authorities, he mentioned. 

 

Khuehami said that For students of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh across the country, these five special numbers will be available 24×7. Students now can register their problems or any sort of insecurity by dailing these numbers, so that feasible solution can be provided with respective state govts, and university/ college authorities in mainland india. 

 

Apart from Special Toll free number (18008919650) launched in the month of June this year, by which around 100 Volunteers are assisting students, five special volunteers will be assisting students who are facing any problem or insecurity in mainland india. These Volunteers will also help in every matter of concern regarding the admissions through the official email and social media handles for every student as well, he emphasized. 

 

These helpline numbers will be manned and regulated by dedicated counsellors & grievance redressal attendants. We hope that this initiative of the association will emerge as the solution provider for students and will facilitate them in addressing their demands and problems while facing any sort of harassment and insecurity. The objective of these special numbers is to develop a responsive & accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere, he added further. 

 

Coordinator of Association, Umar Jamal said that these helpline numbers shall solely and exclusively be employed for helping kashmiri students across India in the event of any problem. Apart from the recent killings in Kashmir, sharpening of contest plans and soaring war of words ahead in assembly polls in many states are adding more to the disquiet and drudgery of Kashmiri students studying outside kashmir. Distress is hitting hard the students community of kashmir at this juncture and need of the hour is that these launched numbers shall cater their well being in tense times.
