Initiate a probe over death of PDD casual laborer Mohammad Ramzan: Ajaz Kazmi

Srinagar, Dec 30 ( RNA) : Apni Trade Union President Ajaz Kazmi on Thursday expressed profound grief over the death of PDD casual laborer Mohammad Ramzan who was electrocuted a few days before.

Demanding a thorough probe into this matter, Kazmi said that those involved in this matter must be brought to justice.

"Mohammad Ramzan Chopan belonged to Rawoocha-Rafiabad who died while repairing a transformer in his locality. But the officials responsible for his death need to be booked under law and his family should be provided with adequate compensation as they have lost their bread winner," he said.

In his statement, Kazmi urged the Electrical Department to ascertain coordination in order to avoid such terrible mishaps in the future. "Such an ominous incident is an outcome of lack of coordination and communication gap due to which an innocent life was lost and the hopes of a humble family were shattered. Electrical department must act responsibly in this regard," he added.

Besides, Kazmi reiterated his demand that the pleas of Daily Wagers & Casual workers across Jammu and Kashmir must be addressed at an earliest in order to ensure that their interests are taken into consideration in case of such eventualities.
