Congress slams erratic power curtailments Says people being denied electricity during Sehri, Iftar times

Srinagar April 21, 2022 (RNA) :The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Wednesday slammed erratic power curtailments, describing it as big failure on the part the Govt to ensure adequate supply of electricity.

In a hard-hitting statement,JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir slammed the Govt over failing to ensure adequate supply of electricity to people, blaming that despite knowing the dire need of electricity during the Holy month, Govt has failed to ensure adequate supply during Sehri & Iftar Times, which is causing enormous inconvenience to people.

Mir said the assurances with regard to adequate supply of electricity have fallen flat. One fails to understand as to how the PDD department works in J&K as that people are feeling that the department has miserably failed to perform its responsibilities towards the society, which is evident given the erratic supply of electricity, JKPCC President said.

Govt assurances with regard to supply of 20 hour electricity have not been met, the fact remains that people do not even get 10 hours electricity, Mir added and questioned the failure of the Govt on this count?

JKPCC President also blamed the PDD Department over turning deaf ear to people’s needs and sought intervention of the JKLG inorder address the power crisis, on war footing basis.

Govt must come out of the deep slumber and ensure required supply of electricity in J&K, besides fixing the responsibility against the failures to ensure adequate supply of electricity to people, Ghulam Ahmad Mir emphasized.
