Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum urges to use local resources to manage power crisis.


Srinagar April 25 (RNA) : The Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum on Sunday expressed its concern over the unscheduled power cuts as the situation is causing a lot of hardships to the people,of jammu&Kashmir ,students, Business establishments especially those who are on loge support oxygen at their homes. In a statement issued by Chairman Abdul Qayoom.Wani it said, “We have never experienced such worst and frequent cuts in the holy month of Ramadan , especially during Sehri and Iftaar.”. Wani said that despite our own water resources and power houses we are the worst hit people due to power crisis ,our business ,our students and over all development in jammu kashmir suffered badly due to this injustice . “The oxygen supported patients are struggling throughout the valley at their homes”, the chairman further said, adding that as the Shab-e-Qadar holy night was approaching, Govt should ensure sufficient supply of electricity in Jammu & Kashmir, from whatsoever the resources may be possible. Wani said that State has enough hydroelectric resource capacity and in this worst case scenario if we cant avail our own resources then what use of such resources when our patients are suffering for want of oxygen . Jk civil Society forum urged the administration and the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people during Sehri and Iftaar hours in the Valley”, the statement added.
