Apni party councillors join BJP in Baramulla


Baramulla : In a boost to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district scores of Apni Party councillors on Tuesday joined hands towards saffron party. Sources informed Kashmir Despatch, that on the second day visit of union minister of state (Independent charge) Science and Technology, minister of state (Independent charge) Earth sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Greviences Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh around five Apni Party councillors from MC Baramulla joined BJP with an aim to strengthen the party on ground level in the town. The joining function held at Dak Banglow Baramulla, besides union home minister Dr Jitendra Singh, senior BJP leader Anwar Khan were present on the occasion. Among the joining councilors including Mudasir Ahmad Tantary, Fareeda Begum,Jasbir Kaur,Gurpreet Singh Bali and Ghulam Rasool Malik. Sources further added that few other faces likely will join the safron party in comming days. Pertinently, Tawseef Raina lost a no-confidence motion that was moved against him by several councillors of Baramulla Municipal Council last week. A floor test was conducted in which 17 counsellors took part while ten chose to stay away from raina, since then the institution is without president.
