ADC reviews functioning of JPDCL Department in Poonch


POONCH, APRIL 30 (RNA) : Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Dr.Basharat Hussain reviewed working of JPDCL and Jal Shakti departments, here at conference hall of DC Complex Poonch. Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, informed that there are 210 pumping stations in the District and Motors of 04 pumping stations are not working. Similarly, Executive Engineer JPDCL apprised that there is no set curtailment schedule of light and as such the grievances of public are more. He informed that about 60% of electricity is available against total requirements. The ADC asked the Engineers of JPDCL for bringing the information in public domain both area wise and feeder wise so that public may be apprised about problem. He also directed the department to share reports of power supply breakdown on social media as soon as it occurs and inform the public about possible restoration time. The ADC asked the Engineer of JPDCL for replacing/repairing of 04 damaged Motors of pumping stations within 24 hours in urban areas and within 48 hours in rural areas. He further asked the concerned Executive Engineers to ensure the presence of their Junior Engineers in their respective jurisdictions so that the general public grievances could be addressed in shortest possible time. He directed that the officials deputed at the Receiving Stations must maintain a proper log book. The Executive Engineers were asked to Issue a 24x7 schedule for the staff deployed at the Pumping Stations and receiving stations and the schedule be shared with all the magistrates for effective supervisions. To ensure the presence of field staff at the Pumping Stations and Receiving Stations Executive Magistrates have been directed to check the stations randomly particularly during odd hours by taking the help of Police as and when needed. He further directed to use water tankers to substantiate the drinking water supply in stressed areas. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, Tehsildar Haveli, Anjum Khattak, and AEEs from JPDCL AND Jal Shakti Deptts.
