Baramulla Police Organized Cyber Awareness Cum Drug De-Addiction Programme At Police Station Uri


As a part of Public outreach programme, on the directions of SSP Baramulla, Sh. Rayees Mohammad Bhat-IPS today Cyber awareness cum drug de-addiction programme was held at Police Station Uri. The programme was chaired by SHO PS Uri, Sh. Dheeraj Kumar-JKPS. A warm welcome was given to SHO PS Uri Pattan by the participants. The programme was also attended by Chairman Municipal Council Uri, President’s of Traders Federation Uri, councilors of Municipal Council Uri and staff of Police Station Uri. Public from surrounding area including respectable citizens, also attended the said programme. The main motive behind conducting such programmes is to provide awareness of cyber crime and drug de-addiction among the participants. SHO PS Uri briefed about cyber threats/ activities viz Identity theft, credit card fraud, data stealing, cyber stalking, humiliation of girls, spreading pornography, etc among the participants. SHO PS Uri sought the cooperation of people in eradicating the social evils prevailing in the society particularly menace of drugs. He highlighted the role of parents and said that parents have a greater responsibility in social development of a child as they act as the first teachers and guides of their wards. General public of Uri thanked SHO PS Uri for visiting and Police Sub Division Pattan for conducting such a meeting and building a bridge of trust between police and public. Public of village requested for regular meetings in future as well.
