Raqeeq Ahmed Khan seeks reservation of jobs in private sector for locals of J&K

Chairs monthly review meeting of Youth Wing in Reasi

REASI, MAY 12, 2022 (RNA) : Apni Party Youth Wing Vice President Raqeeq Ahmed Khan has demanded reservation of skilled and unskilled jobs for the locals in Jammu and Kashmir. As per the statement, a monthly meeting of youth wing in Reasi was organized in Reasi and a review of the organizational activities was taken up by Raqeeq Ahmed Khan and accordingly further course of action was decided on the directions of Vice President of Apni Party and Former Minister Aijaz Ahmed Khan. The meeting discussed various youth related and developmental issues which continued to remain unresolved due to increasing unemployment. In his address, Raqeeq said that the Govt has not been generating employment opportunities for the local educated youth and instead, the jobs are being grabbed by the outsiders in Jammu and Kashmir. “The skilled or unskilled jobs should be reserved for the local youth in private/industrial sectors so that they can be provided job opportunities. Engaging outsiders in developmental projects, railways, highway and hydroelectric projects will not be tolerated. The companies which are involved in the projects have been providing employment to the people from outside and locals are being ignored,” he said. He said that on the other hand, the Govt has not referred vacant posts for their fast track recruitment to the recruitment agencies in J&K and it has further created the problems. “Youth in J&K are mostly dependent upon the Govt jobs and the same is not being provided and it has added to the growing unemployment. The educated and well qualified youth have become over aged while waiting for employment. Hence, the Govt’s non serious approach towards the unemployment issue has put J&K into trouble,” he said. He also appealed to the youth to go to the constituencies and work among the people. “In a short period of time, the Apni Party has gained ground and popularity among the people as an option against the traditional political parties. These traditional political parties have betrayed the youth and the people in general and hopefully in the upcoming assembly elections, these political parties will be exposed,” he added. During the meeting, he highlighted the policy being adopted by the Apni Party that they would provide equal developmental opportunities, would complete all developmental projects in a time bound manner, would create employment opportunities/ encourage entrepreneurship, improve education system in Govt schools and better health care system in rural Jammu and Kashmir without bias. In this meeting, Sarpanch Kanthi -B and Provincial Secretary Apni Party Youth Wing, Altaf Hussain also raised the issues of the youth in the area and said that the Govt’s response to the youth issues has remained poor. “Youth have lost hopes with the present Govt and it is time for the people to elect their own Govt which can work for their development and employment,” he said. Meanwhile, District President Youth Wing, Kulwant Singh also highlighted various issues of development and poor work in the tourism sector. “Tourism has enough potential to generate employment in the area and the entire district. However, it seems that the department of tourism is least concerned about the areas which are still unexplored but they deserve to be developed and brought on the tourism map of J&K,” he said. The meeting was also attended by Senior Party leader Devinder Rasyal, Bhawani Singh Munna Thakur,Sunny Sharma,Mansha Choudhary, Vikrant Sharma,Romal Singh and others.
