Media Fraternity Welcomes Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar as DC Baramulla

Baramulla, May 17 (RNA) : The media fraternity Baramulla today called on Deputy Commissioner Baramulla,  Syed Sehrish Asgar at her office Chamber and welcomed her for taking over as DC Baramulla. On the occasion,Media Fraternity Baramulla appraised the DC about the issues of media persons in Baramulla besides the difficulties they face while covering the events on ground. They also put forth demand for establishment of a press club at Baramulla. Other journalists also spoke and flagged-off their issues with the chair. Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that media is the 4th and significant pillar of democracy and holds an important role in delivery of transparent and accountable governance to the people. While appreciating the role of media fraternity in highlighting the development of the district, the DC called for focusing on positive and constructive reporting. She stressed upon the media fraternity to reach out to the public and ensure that their issues are brought into the notice of the administration for redressal of their issues. It was also given out that the main aim of both administration and media should be an effective public service and sustainable development of the district. Meanwhile, Deptuty Commissioner assured the media fraternity that all the demands put forth have been taken into consideration and will be seriously looked into so that the issues will be resolved in a time bound manner.
