District Admin Kulgam apprises DDC members about implementation status of JJM in district

114 Schemes tendered with a cost of more than 122 crore under the mission in district


KULGAM, MAY 18 (RNA) : To apprise the District Development Council members about the progress and implementation status of Jal Jeevan Mission in the district which is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections, a meeting of the members was organized by the District Administration at conference hall of mini-secreterait, here. The meeting was chaired by DDC Chairperson , Mohd Afzal Parrey and Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat. DDC members, ADDC, SE hydraulics, JD-Planning, Exen PHE, CMO, CEO, DPO, AEES and other officers also attended this meeting. During the meeting through a powerpoint presentation these members were apprised that the total targeted households in district is 60289 and 32384 stands covered and the balance to be covered is 27210. It was also shared that under the Jal Jeevan Mission 128 schemes have been proposed at a cost of 395 crore. It was also given out that 114 schemes have been tendered with a cost of more than 122 crore. The members were also briefed that 43 filtration plants have been proposed to provide safe and pure quality water to the people in Kulgam. 57 service reservoirs and 02 number overhead tanks, OHT have been also proposed to reserve the portable water. During the presentation it was also given out that all schools, Anganwadi centers and health institutions in the district are already connected with piped water. At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the role of District Development Council members and PRI members in monitoring the progress made on these schemes in their respective jurisdictions to achieve the desired goal of the mission. The DDC Chairperson and members of the council said that the updated information provided to them about the present status of the Jal Jeevan Mission will be helpful to them in many ways.
