Calls on Omar Abdullah at party headquarters

Srinagar, July 04.(RNA): Jammu and Kashmir Youth National Conference provincial president Jammu, former MLA Poonch Aijaz Jan on Thursday called on party vice president Omar Abdullah here at party head quarters Nawa e Subha, Srinagar.

YNC provincial president Jammu discussed wide range of issues concerning the party with the vice president. Aijaz apprised the vice president about the appalling condition of the Mughal road. He said that the road that was deemed to provide an alternate link to Kashmir via Pirpanchal Districts hasn’t risen up to the expectations in wake of the sheer negligence of successive governments after 2015. He said the condition of the road is pitiable.
Party leader decried the slack attitude of the governor administration for not ensuring augmentation of road infrastructure on the route. He asserted that the route if developed properly would bring development dividends to the populations living along the highway along Poonch, Rajouri, and Shopian Districts.

Aijaz asserted that the rise of communal forces has added to the miseries of people living in the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri. “The frontier districts were unfortunately discared by the former PDP-BJP coalition from the priority list of Development. The districts that had fallen from the development radar of the previous coalition government continue to suffer from development inertia in the present governor administration as well. The area has seen no stark investment in education, road infrastructure, health and other vital sectors. The roads in the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri are dotted with potholes; the main arterials of the twin districts are in shambles. Absence of an elected government is taking its toll on the development prospects of the districts,” he said adding, “The situation is no different in other parts of Jammu division. The people living in Chenab and Pirpanchal regions have in particular been left to fend for themselves. This time people have made it a point to give a full majority to NC in the assembly. People have understood the follies of PDP, Congress and BJP and are yearning to see NC steering the new state Government.”

Aijaz also acquainted the party vice president about the activities of YNC in the Jammu region. He said the youth of the Jammu aspire to achieve new heights by visualizing their dreams through hard work and dedication. He said the former BJP-PDP coalition failed to give wings to their aspirations. He asserted that there was a wave in favor of National Conference in the Jammu division. He said the people living along LoC areas, the tribals, and other poor sections of the society are feeling disenchanted due to the imprudent policies of former BJP-PDP coalition.
Party vice president extolled the role of Jammu YNC towards making the party stronger on grass roots. The vice president said the development of the Chenab and Pir Panchal regions is high on the agenda of the party. He reaffirmed that if the party comes to power with a majority, it will take no time to carry out administrative de centralization of the far flung areas of the state.

Party vice president expressed concern over the exponential increase in the frequency of accidents in the Chenab and Pir Panchal regions. He said that the forthcoming NC government will address the issue on war footing. (RNA)
