EO, MC Shopian suspended for keeping inaugurated toilets closed

Srinagar, July 04 (RNA): Keeping the newly constructed community toilets closed for public use even after their inauguration, the Executive Officer of Shopian Muncipal Comittee has been suspended and attached to Deputy Commissioner's office. The Deputy Commissioner Owais Ahamd (IAS) has also ordered an enquiry into the issue. Speaking to RNA, Deputy Commissioner while confirming the suspension of the officer said, that several complaints were pouring in against the officer and he had even in the recently held review meeting also pointed that But the complaints still continued to his office prompting him to make onspot visit.
According to Deputy Commissioner, the toilets had been inaugrated but were found closed during the visit which was a serious matter. He said the officer was put under suspension and attached to his office . Besides this, an enquiry was also launched to ascertain the facts. (RNA)
