After Anantnag, Handwara MC under Scanner

Srinagar, July 06 (RNA): It seems as if a season of Scams has arrived in Urban local Bodies, Kashmir where a fresh scandal surfaces every new day. Blown up from Anantnag Muncipal Council in South Kashmir, the pandorabox has now opened up in North Kashmir withDirector Local bodies ordering an action into the " appointment and promotion" of a computer assistant in Muncipal committee Handwara, which if proved true, would see more heads rolling including the former Executive Officers and even a director. RNA has learnt from sources that the Director ULB, has asked Executive Officer, MC Handwara to "take action" after a complaint Was filed against his subordinate Adil Ahmad Dar.

" In connection with the above complaint, you are directed to take immediate appropriate necessary action in the matter as warranted under rules." reads the order vide Number DULB/Estt/442_NF/12336 Dated 29_06_2019, a copy of which lies with RNA.
Sources told RNA that a complaint was filed against Adil questioning his appointment and then his promotion , prompting Director to ask EO to look into the matter.
Meanwhile Executive Officer Muncipal committee Handwara, Habibullah Darzi told RNA that Adil was appointed by a former EO in 2006 and then promoted after three years but his promotion was approved by then director. He however, said that he will write back to Director seeking his opinion.
" We don't have legal or accounts sections in MCs like Directorate. So I am intending to write back to Director seeking his directions regarding the action based on legal grounds " Mr. Darzi told RNA.
