Srinagar Police arrests Jewel thief, recovers Property worth 34 lakhs

Srinagar, July 06 (RNA): Srinagar police with sustained efforts managed to arrest ‘Jewel Thief’ , Bilal Ahmad Ganie
s/o Late Ab Aziz Ganie
r/o Chatpora ,Pulwama and recovered ?34 lakh worth stolen property (jewellery + Cash+ Laptops) from his possession with a surprising conclusion.Posing as a marriage broker , the thief committed 8 thefts (Areas of Shergarhi , Shaheedganj,Rajbagh ,Sadder,
Parempora) in the city in the last 6 months.
Since January, many burglaries were reported from areas of Srinagar after which special teams were formed by
SSP Srinagar Dr Muhammad Haseeb Mughal JKPs&SP City South Dr G V Sundeep Chakravarthy IPS comprising of SDPO Shaheedgunj Mr Imran Malik & SHO Shergarhi Aftab Ahmed to conduct investigation .The team zeroed in on Bilal Ahmed Ghanie through a series of scientific investigative techniques.
The police recovered gold jewelry , Laptops along with the foreign currencies of several countries.
Complainants are informed to recognize their stolen property and can get it released from Court of law.
General public got a sigh of relief and hailed the swift action of Police. (RNA)
