Teachers Forum Shopian conducts a day long convention in Town Hall Shopian


Srinagar, July 07 (RNA): Continuing with its outreach programme in various districts, Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Forum conducted a day long convention in town hall Shopian on 6th July 2019. The convention which was presided over by the state president, Mr Mohammad Akbar Khan, saw a whole lot of state, provincial, district and zonal body leaders expressing their views on strengthening of the organization while simultaneously raising the issues confronted by the teachers of the state. Besides the central, provincial, district and zonal body leaders, the convention was attended by the delegates and a large number of teachers. At the outset, the district spokesman, Mr Mohammad Younis Wani welcomed the audience. It was heartening to see the overwhelming response of the teachers of the district towards Teachers Forum. Almost all the speakers stressed on the need to strengthen the organization at grass root level. While expressing satisfaction on the functioning of teachers’ forum the speakers presented their views on further solidifying the organization which has been representing a whole gamut of teachers from all the three divisions of the state. The issues which are being confronted by the teachers of the state and pending disposal also came up during the convention. The issues of placement of SSA headteachers on substantive posts, regularization of yet to be regularized R.e.T’s, conversion of undergraduate RRT’S to grade II, Adjustment of left out masters of 2014 batch etc were raised. Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Mr Mohammad Ishaq Ganie, Mr Mohammad Shafi Rather, District President Shopian, Mr Nazir Ahmad Sheikh and State President, Mr Mohammad Akbar Khan. In his address, the state president, Mr Mohamamd Akbar Khan reiterated the need to strengthen the organization at grass root level. He said that the forum is working day in, day out to resolve the issues of the teachers and the teachers on their part must focus on the primary job of teaching. He expressed the hope that whatever communication gap exists between different levels of teachers is bridged. Stating that Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum is a strong cadre based organization, the state president went on to say that the foundations of a strong organization lie in an ideology and each and every individual forming the part of that organization sticks to that ideology. Being a strong cadre based organization, the foundational structure of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Forum is based on astute ideology and strong principles and it is this ideology that runs through the organization from top to bottom. Mr Khan said that Teachers Forum is an apolitical organization working for the betterment of the educational scenario of the state and safeguarding the rights and aspirations of the teachers and students. Urging the teachers to stay focused on the job at hand; he hoped that the teachers will leave no stone unturned to achieve the set educational outcomes/goals thereby taking the educational graph of the state to the pinnacle of success. While hailing the contribution of the teachers of district Shopian in organization related matters, the state president said that this south Kashmir District has got the distinction of remaining at the forefront in each and every struggle that the forum has undertook. The convention was attended by Central Body Leaders including Mohammad Ishaq Ganie, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Shafi Rather, Farooq Ahmad Sofi, Bashir Ahmad Thokar -- Provincial Body leaders like Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Tariq Ahmad Lone etc. Mr Mushtaq Ahmad Shah conducted the stage throughout the convention.
Meanwhile a delegation of the office bearers of teachers’ forum called on Chief Education Officer Shopian and raised a whole lot of issues concerning the teaching fraternity. The worthy Chief Education Officer intently listened to the grievances that were projected and assured the delegation that he will do whatever is in his competence to solve the issues. (RNA)
