Postpone Combined Competitive (Mains) Exam 2018 to commence from 22nd of this month: Advocate Sajad Sheikh

Srinagar,  July 15 (RNA): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement chief Spokesperson here on Monday advocated for the postponement of Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination which is to commence from 22nd of this Month.

The candidates met the Chief spokesperson here in the head office Rajbagh, The JKPSC combined competitive 2018 Prelims was conducted last year and the results were announced later on. Consequently, the Combined Competitive Mains 2018 was scheduled from 23rd of Feb this year. However when CCE 2016 process got subjudice the JKPSC itself postponed CCE 2018 Mains citing the reason that the commission intends to include 2016 CCE to avoid overlap and further litigations in CCE Mains 2018, candidates added.

The candidates appearing in CCE Mains 2018 are apprehensive of the fact that making the already selected students appear would result in overlap if the same students qualify CCE 2018.

Further, the JKPSC had come up with a notification dated on 19/03/2018 that the new pattern adopted from CCE 2018 on the lines of UPSC will be synchronized with the UPSC timeline and a gap of 15 days between similar stages of both exams will be provided. This will ensure that candidates from J&K can align their preparation and succeed in UPSC
simultaneously.

This year more than 100 plus candidates from J&K have qualified UPSC CCE 2019 and have to appear in UPSC CCE MAINS 2019 w.e.f 21/09/2019. The JKPSC CCE Mains 2018 exam be better synchronized with UPSC CCE 2019 and a gap be provided between the two. This will ensure maximum students qualify UPSC. Last year no the student from KASHMIR figured in UPSC CCE 2018 results due to the small gap between mains exam of KAS- 2016 and USPC mains 2018, they further added.

We hope the candidates' demands will get immediate redressal so that there is no hindrance for them, Sheikh added. (RNA)
