Qayoom Wani pitches for Engineer’s Rights, says, Govt must agree to their demands

Says, “they were not asking for skies, don’t force employees to resort to confrontation.”

Srinagar, July 16 (RNA): Expressing solidarity with the Engineers of the state Government, People’s Democratic Party leader and former trade Union leader Ab. Qayoom Wani has said that Engineers were the backbone of the administration and should not be subjected to injustice and step motherly treatment.
In a statement to RNA, wani said that it is the Engineers who shoulder the responsibility to fulfill majority of the commitments of the government in terms of development and progress. He however, regretted that this important organ of the state machinery has been ignored and ill treated as they have been left to struggle to get their right which should in no way be construed as a charity. Mr. Wani- who spearheaded various agitations for employee’s rights before plunging into active politics earlier this year said that the Engineers were not asking for skies or anything which they did not deserve therefore, governor administration must sit down with them and agree to their demands . He said issuance of Time bound Running grade/ / Assured Career Progression already approved by Government on the pattern of doctors, Regularization of services of Engineers at all levels, Cadre review in Engineering Departments, Filling up of all the vacant posts in parent and allied Engineering departments, Removal of Pay anomalies of Engineers at all levels and enhancement of Fixed traveling allowance etc were genuine demands which should be considered and agreed upon by the Governor administration.
The former trade Union Leader while recalling his fight for the absorption of fourty two thousand Rehbar e Taleem Teachers in the state budget , said that government’s should not force its employees to agitate for their rights , instead it should initiate in reaching out to them so that the confrontation stage is avoided .
He said that he and his party PDP would support the Engineers in their fight to get their genuine right. (RNA)
