Lab technician attacked by colleague, his son in SDH Kupwara, BMO lodges FIR

Enquiry initiated against erring official, relieved to CMO office


Srinagar, July 19 (RNA): Authorities in Sub District Hospital Kupwara have sought police action against son of a staff member for helping his father in roughing up a lab technician inside the hospital premises. The Block Medical Officer, Kupwara has also ordered an enquiry and relieved the accused staff member to Chief Medical Officer with immediate effect. Sources in the hospital told RNA that a lab technician Pirzada Nazir Ahmad was beaten to pulp by his colleague Mohammad Asadullah Sofi and his son Adil Ahmad Sofi in the hospital premises triggering a huge outcry from the staff and locals. According to insiders, following the incident, the Block Medical Officer, Kupwara swung into action and relieved Asadullah sofi to CMO office besides ordering an enquiry into the incident. 

The BMO has also written to Police requesting for registration of FIR against the Son of Rather, Adil Ahmad and has sought an action against him.
“One Aadil Ahmad Sofi S/O M. Asadullah Sofi R/O Batergam has ridiculously beaten and misbehaved our one employee namely Nazir Ahmad Pirzada, lab technician SDH Kupwara. It is therefore requested that kindly lodge First Information Report ( FIR) against the said person and take stern action against the culprit.” reads the letter of BMO Vide No. BMOK/ 897-99 Dated 17/07/2019, a copy of which is in RNA possession.
In a separate order, the BMO has also constituted a committee of officers including Dr. Mohammad Yousf, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad, Ifaq Ahmad, Ashfaq Hussain and Gh. Nabi Bhat vide order No. BMOK/902-03 for holding an enquiry into the matter.
In third order, the lab technician M. Asadullah Sofi ahs been relieved to CMO ‘s office for further duties. (RNA)
