Crime branch drops at Nayeem Akhter's door

Srinagar, July 21 (RNA): In a significant development, the crime branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police has droped at former minster and PDP senior leader Nayeem Akhter's door to get information regarding the infamous JKPCC Scam . Highly reliable sources in the Crime branch told RNA that since Mr. Akhter was R&B minster then and he had issued various orders for works which are now under investigation, therefore it was necessary to ask him as under what circumstances he issued the orders. RNA has learnt from sources that the questioning was done a few days back and it was likely that he may be questioned again. A senior officer in the Crime branch told RNA on the condition of anonymity that Mr. Akhter was asked to provide information regarding the reasons behind his issuing orders for various works. He however, refused to admit that Mr. Akhter was grilled as an accused in the scam but said that since he was the incharge minster then, therefore it was necessary to get some point clarified from him.

Meanwhile Nayeem Akhter could not be reached for his comments as he did not pick up the phone from RNA. (RNA)
