Need to speed up pace of developmental projects in district Kupwara: Sajad Lone

Srinagar, July 23 (RNA): Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone on Tuesday while visiting a number of villages in district Kupwara’s Rajwar area as part of PC’s public outreach program ‘Salaam-wa-Kalaam’ urged the governor administration to fast track work on developmental projects in the district so as to ease day to day life of the people.

Addressing separate groups of workers and supporters at Khanpora, Neelipora, Sodal Dwaspora, Tumpor, Shogpora and Magam PC Chairman said that, “Our message should be clear in the minds of our people, we are here for exchange of ideas and listen to the voice of our people today, will be the ‘Pen’ of our leadership in the assembly and secretariat tomorrow. This relation of listening and delivering will keep us alive in the hearts of our people as our sole motive is to stand up to their expectations and give them what they deserve as per their democratic rights”, he said.

Lambasting NC for their failure to meet even the basic demands of people in the last 7 decades, Sajad said that some areas in district Kupwara are still devoid of basic amenities like roads, water and electricity.

“This should hang those heads in shame who’ve assumed the offices after coming to power and have done nothing for the basic necessities of the people they promised during their empty campaigns for decades now”, adding that during his tenure as MLA, district Kupwara got lion’s share in central and state funded developmental projects worth hundreds of crores.

Commenting on the party’s outreach program ‘Salaam-wa-Kalaam’, Sajad said, “Our campaign should be seen as a reflector of our intentions towards our own people and how we aim to serve them. My district leadership is at the disposal of my people, they will raise the issues of pressing concern with the local administration and do their best in serving the people on ground”, he added.

Urging the governor administration to fast track work on developmental projects in the district, Sajad said that, “the administration must speed up the pace of developmental projects that were initiated during my tenure as MLA – road projects under PMGSY and R&B, Handwara Hospital and the road leading to the beautiful Bangus valley”, he added. (RNA)
