Srinagar, July 27 (RNA): Jammu and Kashmir State Bharat Scouts and Guides Saturday organized a two day “Dream Camp” at tourist resort of Gulmarg in North Kashmir in which more than 250 students and teachers from various government and Private Schools of different districts including Barmaulla, Budgam, Pulwama, Kulgam, Kupwara etc participated . The concluding function of the camp was Presided over by the Vice - President of the JK BSG Farooq Ahmad Shah whereas besides Chief Commissioner J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Nazir Ahmad Khan a large number of other dignitaries also attended the concluding function. This is for the first time in the current year that a two day camp was organized by the Scouts in the valley.

The organizers told RNA that many activities were undertaken during the camp which include Introduction of scouting, Petrol System, leadership qualities, Group discussions, painting, drawing, Easy writing, fun activities, first Aid sessions, and various other activities. They said despite the bad weather and meager resources the camp was organized only to induce the spirit in the young generation for doing something extraordinary independently. They said it is for the first time that a large number of participants were from government schools and they hope the trend would continue.

Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion , the vice President of the Scouts Farooq Ahmad Shah said that such camps were extremely important to inculcate the discipline and the eagerness in youth to work even in extreme conditions. He said this was a movement where the children are being prepared for the challenges and their willingness to help the people under any circumstances. He also appealed youth to remain focused on their studies as well and appealed them to keep away themselves from the growing menace of ‘drug abuse’. While terming the drug addiction as one of the biggest challenges of modern day society, Mr. Shah urged youth to not only keep themselves away from the menace but also spread awareness on its ill effects in the society.
