Calls Home Minister, Governor to order probe

Srinagar, July 28 (RNA): Alleging past Political governments of encouraging corruption in the Jammu and Kashmir State, Senior Political activist Mujeeb Sidiquie Saturday said that the State particularly Valley has been destroyed on all fronts by the "corrupt Politicians and officers". While regretting over the state of healthcare in Valley, Mujeeb alleged that majority of the private Nursing homes came up during millitancy period and were running without proper checks and balances. In a statement to RNA, the senior political activist claimed that the healthcare has been the worst hit during the last three decades of disturbances as nobody in the political and administrative establishments was willing to undo the wrong ,instead helped them to do everything against the rules resulting in complete anarchy. He accused Private Nursing Home adminstartions of fleecing the patients and said that Government was never serious in regulating the private healthcare system. According to Mujeeb, many Nursing Homes in Srinagar were charging a patient between 1500_ 3500 a room per night which was more than even a well established air-conditioned hotel. He said these healthcare centers had a direct patronage of politicians and bureacrates hence were resorting to "unethical practices" without bothering of any retort from the adminstration.
Sidiquie also lashed out at Government Doctors saying, many of them were performing operations and medical check ups in Private Nursing homes during duty hours.
He said the " fake drugs" was another huge issue confronting the society and said 80 percent substandard drugs was in the market but no-one is bothered to check the menace. He said even government hospitals are not well equipped resulting in the problems to the patients .He appealed Home Minster and Governor to bring accountability in the Private health sector in Valley and said a probe should be ordered as how many Nursing Homes were running with proper facilities and permission in valley.
