Mujeeb Sidique demands probe in ‘mortgage deeds’ of J&K bank loan holders

Demands hassle free financial assistance to youth for employment generation

Srinagar, July 31 (RNA): Demanding a complete audit of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank , senior political activist and businessman Mujeeb Sidique Wednesday said that , the premier financial institution of the state had been held hostage by politicians and bureaucrats in the past which has prevented it helping the youth to launch their own start ups and other small scale industries. Addressing the youth meeting in Amira kadal Constituency in Srinagar, Mujeeb regretted that young entrepreneurs were left high and dry as they never were provided the financial assistance without hindrances which has halted the self entrepreneurship in the valley. The businessman turned politician accused Bank authorities for creating ‘ unnecessary’ hurdles in sanctioning loans to youth and said the loan accounts of politicians, big businessmen and bureaucrats should be probed so that it come who has got how much. He alleged that the bank had become a den of corruption where poor people had no access especially during the tenure of former CEO Paravaiz Ahamd. He urged Governor to order probe in the ‘mortgage’ deeds of those who have taken crores of loans from the bank and claimed that ‘skeletons’ would tumble.
“If they order probe in mortgage deeds of those who have taken crores of loan, you will see many of those deeds proving fake.” Mujeeb told youth. He said even cashiers, Clarks and managers were sticking at one place from last several years owing to their connection with the higher bank authorities which has plagued the system.
He also lashed out at Industries department for making the process for establishment of units cumbersome and said, the department was not holding any awareness camps to make youth aware of the schemes of the central government aiming self employment. He demanded that the awareness camps be held on weekly basis so that youth are made aware of the central government’s employment generation programmes which would help them take benefit of those schemes.
