"No more waiting" is Omar Abdullah's response to Amit Shah's remark regarding the scrapping of the AFSPA.

Srinagar, MarCH 27 (RNA): In response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks on Wednesday regarding the repeal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and the military pullout, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, stated that there was no need to wait any longer.

"What prevents the Indian government from repealing the AFSPA when they claim that things are normal and that separatism and militancy have ended in Jammu and Kashmir? Permit them to start the removal process. At a political gathering in the Budgam district of central Kashmir, Omar Abdullah told reporters, "I don't think there is a need to wait any longer."

According to RNA ,the former Chief Minister claimed that the National Conference made every effort to have AFSPA removed from Jammu and Kashmir.

But before the Lok Sabha polls, he launched a jab at the Center, stating, "The statement made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah is only a prank to the people of Jammu and Kashmir."

"The Union Home Minister is deceiving people in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the Lok Sabha election, just as the people of Ladakh were deceived about statehood and the Sixth Schedule up until now," Omar Abdullah stated.

It is important to note that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has stated that the Center has a plan in place to remove troops from the Union Territory and that it will examine repealing the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act from Jammu and Kashmir.( RNA)
