JKCSF demands 3 day holiday on EID ul Fitr; Release of pay dues for employees , casual and daily wagers and old age pensioners.


Srinagar, April 5 (RNA): Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has demanded the extension of holidays of Eid  Ul Fitre from one day to three days. In a statement issued here Chairman JKCSF Abdul Qayoom Wani said that Eid Ul Fitre is the most pious and venerated festival of Muslims which is celebrated after the holy month of fasting, Ramzan Ul Mubark. Wani said that people need at least one preparatory day before Eid and two days to celebrate the main festival.
JKCSF has urged upon the administration to release the salary of employees, dues old age  pensioners, daily wagers, aanganwadi , supervisor workers ,helpers and other categories of casual laborers before Eid so that everybody can purchase the Eid related items and eatables well before Eid.
JKCSF has expressed concern over the restrictions put on Miwaize Kashmir Moulana Mohammad Umer  Farooq for leading the Jummah prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar, Society has said that it is afterall a religious issue and Jamia Masjid is the religious centre of Muslims of Kashmir and people find sooth of soul to pray there when Mirwaiz leads the prayers. Society hoped that in future there will be no restrictions on Moulana Mohammad Umer  Farooq to lead the prayers and guide people in religious and social issues.
JKCSF has asked the people to remember poor and destitute and orphans in the celebrations of festivals and to keep up the traditions of solidarity and brotherhood the Kashmir is known for.
