PC committed to foster development and restore dignity of people of J&K: Sajad Gani Lone

Omar Abdullah not ideologically opposed to the BJP, his differences seem personal

Srinagar, April 15 (RNA) : J&K Peoples Conference President Sajad Gani Lone today asserted that PC stands dedicated to nurturing development initiatives and restoring the dignity of the people residing in Jammu and Kashmir. He made these comments while spearheading three significant joining ceremonies, welcoming hundreds of prominent socio-political activists from Lolab and Kupwara constituencies into the party fold.
In a grand joining, PC President warmly welcomed hundreds of political workers from Kalaroos, Kupwara wherein Kupwara Constituency Incharge Rustum Ali Khan, Constituency Convenor Kupwara Mushtaq Khan, YJKPC Vice President Kupwara Rahil Dar, Naseer Khan, Haji Altaf Khan, Naseer Ahmad Raina and Mohammad Maqbool Lone were present.
Moreover, in another joining, former Sarpanch Sogam Wali Mohammad Ganaie, Former Ward Member Bashir Ahmad Lone from Machil, along with several other political workers from diverse ideological backgrounds, joined the party. Party Provincial President Mohammed Khurshid Alam and Youth President Lolab Bilal Ahmad were also present. The third joining witnessed the induction of well-known political activists Haji Abdul Rashid Peer from Zangli, Kashera and Haji Bashir Ahmad Peer from Rudbugh area of Kupwara.
Adressing the new entrants, Lone emphasized that Peoples Conference is committed to foster development and restore the dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, which remain both crucial for our prosperity and growth.
"In terms of development, our focus is on fostering long-term growth by strengthening horticulture and tourism, which will uplift our economy. Securing sufficient funds for these sectors will remain our priority," he said.
Furthermore, Mr. Lone asserted that JKPC shall advocate for equal treatment for the youth of J&K, ensuring their dignity aligns with that of youth in other states.
"The era of emotional politics has passed; we should rather take up issues concerning common man in the upcoming elections," he said.
While addressing questions from the media about Omar Abdullah’s comments expressing his willingness to work with Vajpayee even today if he were alive, Lone remarked that there is no difference between Mr. Vajpayee and Mr. Modi.
“BJP is an ideological party. Omar Abdullah doesn't have any ideological dispute with the BJP or Hindutva, but rather his issues seem to be more personal. It appears that Mr. Modi doesn't give him attention, while Mr. Vajpayee likely did. Therefore, in the future, if anyone from the BJP ideology extends attention to him, Omar Abdullah would have no hesitation in aligning with them”, he added.
Lone further stated that those who ruled J&K for over thirty years should be held accountable for their historical blunders.
"I harbour no personal grudges. They have ruled for the maximum time in the last 70 years. The current situation is a result of their mis-governance, and they must answer for it”, he added.
