Waheed Parra, Representative of Kashmiri Youth, Symbolizes Post-2019 Challenges: Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar, May 7 (RNA): The Peoples Democratic Party here on Tuesday organized a massive roadshow in different areas of Tral constituency in Pulwama district. The road show was led by party president Mehbooba Mufti herself in favour of PDP youth president and parliament candidate for Srinagar- Pulwama Parliament Constituency Waheed Ur Rehman Parra. During the roadshow, Mufti addressed massive public meetings in several areas of Tral constituency.

Addressing the Public gathering, Mufti acknowledged the profound pain and suffering experienced by the people, pledging to advocate for them and amplify their voices. She campaigned in favor of party youth president Waheed Parra, who is contesting Lok Sabha elections from the Srinagar Parliamentary seat, stating, “He has been the symbol of challenges faced by Kashmiri youth after August 2019.”

Speaking on the Occasions, Mufti said that Waheed Para faced everything that a common youth faces in Kashmir. She introduced Waheed Parra as the "representative of Kashmiri youth," acknowledging the challenges he faced over the past four years. Mufti emphasized that despite being jailed, interrogated, and tortured, Waheed remained loyal to the party and its principles in the toughest times.

She urged the youth to support PDP's candidate for the Srinagar Parliament Constituency, assuring that their voices would be heard in the Parliament. She epitomizes resilience and patience, stating, "I salute to the people of Tral for their unwavering support.

Addressing the rally, PDP Youth President and Parliament Candidate for Srinagar- Pulwama Constituency Waheed Parra expressed, "We are not against the narrative of peace that the government is claiming, but achieving peace through the lens of jails and the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) is deeply concerning. Genuine peace should be built on dialogue, understanding, and justice."

Drawing from his personal experience of spending two years in incarceration, Parra empathetically voiced his solidarity with the incarcerated youth, emphasizing their plight and the necessity of amplifying their voices on a national platform. He further stated that he would draw the attention of the government in power to address the genuine aspirations of the people and to grant amnesty to youth and students so that they could live a normal and dignified life.
