One day Training programme on GeM inaugurated by Director Agriculture Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec26 ( RNA): Director Agriculture Kashmir Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today inaugurated a training programme regarding Government e-market (GeM) at Agriculture Complex, Lalmandi, which is being conducted by ICICI Bank Ltd.
Joint Director Agriculture Inputs Deepak Kumar Kuchroo, Deputy Director Farmers Education Centre, Accounts Officer, Directorate of Agriculture Kashmir, Drawing and Disbursing Officers of the Department and other concerned attended the training programme.
While speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture said that Government e-Market is an online market place launched by Ministry of Commerce, Department of Expenditure which recommends all the government buyers including Central and State government departments, Central and State PSUs and Non PFMS entities to conduct their day to day official procurement activity via GeM portal.
To ensure accountability and efficiency the Director stressed upon the DDOs of the department to utilize the GeM service in future while making purchase. He directed all the concerned officers to open a GeM Pool Account with one of the GeM enabled Bank at an earliest to avoid any inconvenience in continuing the transaction process.
Resource persons from ICICI Bank presented details regarding GeM Pool Account. It is in place to mention that Ministry of Finance has issued office memorandum to mandate the use of GeM Pool Account (GPA) for all procurements above rupees 10 lacs for non PFMS entities and agencies. RNA
