IAS officer asked to submit IPR details by the end of January

Jammu, Jan 01 ( RNA) : The Indian Administrative Service Officer ( IAS) working in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory have been asked to file their mandatory , Annual Immovable Property Return ( IPR) by the end of January , failing which a ‘’disciplinary action’’ would be initiated against them. According to RNA,the details are required to be filed online and no manual submission would be accepted . An order issued by General Adminstration Department read that the IPR should reach to the Department of Personal & Trainings by 31st of January, 2020.
“Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India vide D.O. No. 6(1)/2014-EO (PR) dated 21* November, 2019 has referred to Rule 16(2) of AIS (Conduct) Rules, 1968, which entails that every member of the service shall submit annual Immovable Property Return (IPR) by 31* January of the next year, failure whereof constitutes good and sufficient reason for institution of disciplinary proceedings. An online module has been introduced w.e.f. 01.01.2017 in respect of IAS officers for online filling of IPR. Through this module, every IAS officer can submit his/her IPR either electronically or upload scanned copy of the manually filled in IPR. This online module will close automatically after the prescribed timeline of 3lSt January, 2020 in respect of the calendar year 2019. In terms of the extant Rules, the IAS officers have to necessarily file IPRs electronically as there is no provision for submission of IPRs manually. 'The timely submission of IPRs, has assumed significance as in terms of DoPT instructions late submission of IPR results in denial of vigilance clearance. The IAS officers working in connection with the affairs of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir are accordingly advised to observe the above instructions in letter & spirit. RNA
