FC finance asks deptts to fully utilize funds provided under CSSs

Jammu, Jan.15 ( RNA): Financial Commissioner, Finance, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta today urged the line departments to vigorously pursue the process of getting balance funds from Government of India being provided under different Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).
He was speaking at a high level meeting held to discuss the sanctioning and release of funds from GoI towards different centrally sponsored schemes.
Several administrative secretaries and the officers of Finance department attended the meeting.
The Financial Commissioner stressed on the officers to show eagerness to take the projects in hand and utilise the funds for which they are meant for. He asked them to ensure that the funds received from central government are utilised in full.
He advised the concerned to make concerted efforts for release of pending funds in favour of J&K as the same are meant for the welfare of the society.
“J&K is in dire need of such kind of assistance and its proper utilisation will definitely change the developmental scenario here”, the FC asserted.
Meanwhile, it was informed in the meeting that over Rs 6000 crore are due for release to J&K as component of central government towards different centrally sponsored schemes. It was further informed that all the departments are pursuing the release of these funds by liaising with the concerned Ministries.
Pertinently, J&K is benefitting from 53 centrally sponsored schemes. Some of the flagship centrally sponsored programmes implemented here are Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MG NREGS), Pradhan MantriSharm Yogi Mandhan (PMSYM), National Minority Scholarship Schemes, Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal VikasYojana (PMKVY), Pradhan Mantri AawasYojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan), PM UjjwalaYojana, PM Fasal Bima Yojana, PM Jan DhanYojana, PM Mudra Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Ayushman Bharat and Deendayal AntayodayaYojana besides many others.RNA
