Apni Party's Srinagar district body holds a meeting to address party affairs and discuss public issues, and grievances


Srinagar, May 27 (RNA) : Apni Party’s district body in Srinagar held an important meeting with the primary objective of discussing some internal party affairs and deliberating on pressing public issues that are causing suffering to the people in Srinagar. The meeting was chaired by the party's Provincial President for Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, while all the district-level leaders, constituency heads, and block and zonal presidents from Srinagar were present in the meeting. According to a party statement issued here, the meeting continued for several hours, allowing for comprehensive discussions and strategic planning. During the meeting, the participants, besides discussing certain party matters, raised some pressing public issues that stem from inadequate infrastructure and administrative negligence. These issues include the absence of a well-functioning drainage system in various parts of the city, inadequate public transportation facilities, deteriorating roads and link roads, as well as a shortage of safe drinking water supplies. On this occasion, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, while addressing the meeting, said, "The plight of the people in Srinagar is an undeniable reality, as they have been grappling with a range of public issues for quite a long time. It is apparent that residents in most of the mohallas in Srinagar's Shehr-e-Khas are suffering due to the absence of even basic amenities. A large part of the city does not have a proper drainage system. People face difficulties due to the shortage of potable water and electricity supply." He demanded the LG administration prioritise the redressal of public concerns in the city. Mir vowed that if Apni Party secures a public mandate in the upcoming elections, it will not leave any stone unturned to ensure Srinagar people get rid of these chronic issues. He said, "We understand that people in Srinagar have been subjected to protracted official negligence and the city lacks the required public infrastructure. But I want to assure people that the moment Apni Party forms a government in J&K, we will start addressing all these issues. However, in the present circumstances, Apni Party would urge the present dispensation to, at least, try to make genuine efforts to resolve the immediate issues faced by the people of Srinagar to remove their immediate hardships." Meanwhile, the party leaders discussed some internal matters and outlined a strategy to strengthen the party further at the grassroots level in the city areas. They also decided to enhance the party’s ongoing public outreach campaign in the city and its outskirts. Besides Mohammad Ashraf Mir, the prominent party leaders who were present in the meeting included Convenor Haji Parvez, District President Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh, Vice President Mohammad Shafi Mir, Vice President Noor Mohammad Khan, Vice President Ajaz Ahmad Rather, District Secretary and in charge of Habba Kadal constituency Jeelani Kumar, Coordinator Mohsin Zaffar Shah, In charge Eid Gah Constituency Mohammad Ashraf Palpori, Zonal President Chanapora Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Shabir Reshi, Ghulam Hassan , Vice Chairman DDC Srinagar Bilal Bhat, Corporator Aijaz Rasool, Riyaz Master, Provincial President Youth Wing Khalid Rathore, Provincial President of Women's Wing Dilshada Shaheen, Provincial President Women's Wing Afrooza Ji, District Secretary Women’s Wing Rafeeqa Akhtar, and others.
