Police arrested 3 drug peddlers in Baramulla; Contraband substances recovered


Srinagar, April 16 (RNA): Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.      
A police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Khanpora Baramulla, intercepted one person. During search, 15 grams  of contraband Brown Sugar like substances was recovered from his possession. He was later identified as Junaid Shaban Gojree son of Mohd Shaban Gojree resident of Shahi Hamdan Colony Baramulla. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Baramulla were he remained in custody.
Similarly, a police party of Police Post Delina headed by IC PP Delina at a checkpoint established at Delina Baramulla intercepted one person. During search, 90 grams  of contraband Charas like substances was recovered from his possession. He was later identified as
Sajad Ahmad Bhat @ Jhon Bab son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat resident of  Kralpora Delina.
He has been arrested and shifted to PS Baramulla were he remained in custody.
Moreover, police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Kralhar Baramulla, intercepted one person. During search, 160 grams  of contraband Charas like substances was recovered from his possession. He was later identified as Mehraj ud din Mir @ Sahab Voltage son of Mohd Abdullah resident of Stadium Colony Baramulla. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Baramulla were he remained in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigations have been initiated.
We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
