All passes issued by dist. Admin for Covid lockdown stand valid: DM B’la

Says, “Instructions issued to police to honour the passes.”

Baramulla, May 12 (RNA): The Baramulla district administration has clarified that no passes issued by the district administration for the movement amid Corona-virus lockdown have been canceled and insisted that every pass issued by the administration was valid.
The District Magistrate Baramulla Dr. G.N Itoo told RNA that instructions have been passed to the law enforcing agencies that the passes issued by his office should be honored and no one carrying the valid card should be harassed.
Pertinently many government employees particularly those working in the PDD and Health department had complained that their passes were taken away by Police a few days back claiming that the Deputy Commissioner had canceled all the passes. An official of the PDD alleged that his pass was taken away by Police at Kralhar Naka a few days back forcing him to stay away from his duties.
A retired Police Officer Shabir Ahmad Shah told RNA that he was taking his daughter- who is a doctor - to Baramulla hospital for attending her duties but was stopped despite carrying a valid pass. Mr. Shah said that civil administration in the district was sending confusing communications which has resulted in chaos and confusion at various places.
“The policemen are implementing the orders of the civil administration. The district Administration must be clear in its directives so that no confusion takes places on roads.” Said the retired DSP. He questioned that if a doctor is not allowed to move then whoelse is.?
Meanwhile when contacted District Magistrate Baramulla Dr. G. N Itoo told RNA,
“All the passes issued by the administration stand valid and the instructions have been passed to the police and other law enforcing agencies to honour them.”
