Usman Majeed Seeks immediate restoration of Utility services in Snow- hit Jammu &Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 05 ( RNA): Vice-President JKAP and Former Legislator Bandipora Usman Majid here on today Called for immediate restoration of Utility services like Road, electricity, water Supply. Majid said that continuous snowfall has impacted various utility services like drinking water and power, which are needed to be restored on immediate basis. He said that health services are defunct in several areas as a result of which ailing people are suffering the most.
He said the people are already suffering due to heavy snowfall and they need some respite at this hour of crisis. He sought presence of medicos and para-medicos in the health institutions and adequate stocking of medicines to cope up with the needs of the people & also sought adequate stocks of rations at sale outlets so that they people do not suffer.
With the blockade of Srinagar-Jammu Highway for quite some time, scarcity of essentials could lead to price hike and profiteering by vested interests which could be averted by proper vigilance and monitoring of Public Distribution System (PDS), mostly in rural and far flung areas that have got cut off due to snowfall, Usman Majid said. The control rooms as claimed to have been set up at all District levels should ensure coordination among the field agencies to come to the rescue of the people, he added.
Usman said that, Jammu & Kashmir administration should ensure on time clearance of snow from roads & ensure proper availability of basic amenities like power supply, water supply, Ration supply & LPG supply. He said that J&K administration should make extra efforts to restore the services on war footing basis and all necessary measures be taken to restore essential services affected in Snow-Hit parts of J&K due to heavy snowfall.
