Patient care hit in JK Govt hospitals due to 2 hour long strike

Srinagar, Jan 11( RNA): The healthcare system in Government Hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir has been affected due to a two hour strike against the " unwarranted" action against medicos in Sub district hospital Pattan by local administration. Reports coming to RNA said that many patients in many north Kashmir hospitals were waiting outside OPDs as doctors have gone on strike against the decision of puting many doctors under notice by adminstration for " unauthorised absence."

Earlier many doctors including DAK President Dr Suhail Naik in Trauma Hospital Pattan were put on notice by district administration for -what they said- unauthorised absence from the duties on Saturday.
The Doctor's Association President Dr. Suhail Naik while accusing SDM Pattan of meddling " unnecessarily" in the hospital affairs questioned the intent behind the move.
" On one side he( SDM Pattan) issues an advisory asking people to avoid travel on highway , and on the other side he puts doctors on notice. First he must held himself responsible for not been able to clear the road. Our hospital has been functioning without any disruption. That goes unfortunately unnoticed." Dr. Naik told RNA, adding that the two hour strike in OPDs was a token strike against the " arbitrary decission." RNA.
