*BJP govt has failed in its experiments on J&K: Harsh Dev*

*Jammu, 08-10-2021:*  Condemning the series of brutal civilian killings in Kashmir besides a fresh episode of targeted killing of a principal and a teacher inside the govt school in Srinagar yesterday, scores of Panther activists spearheaded by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman-JKNPP and Mr. Yashpaul Kundal, General Secretary-JKNPP & Ex-Minister staged a vociferous protest demonstration in Jammu today. The infuriated protestors amid raising anti- BJP slogans demanded resignation of PM Narendra Modi and HM Amit Shah for having failed to curb the deteriorating situation in J&K. Meanwhile, the NPP leaders had a scuffle with the J&K police which had raised huge barricades to restrain them from marching towards Raj Bhawan.

Peeved over the turbulent situation in J&K and unabated civilian killings on selective basis in the valley, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that there were no signs of government on the ground in the UT and the cowardly act of the militants killing 7 innocent civilians in the last five days had exposed the haughty and supercilious claims of normalcy being trumpeted by the govt after states re-organized. Terming the killings of Satinder Kaur and Deepak Chand Mehra both teachers as attack on humanity, he lambasted the BJP govt at the centre and its proxy running in J&K for having grossly failed to respond appropriately to the situation created in the erstwhile State. “The number of youth who joined militant ranks saw a steep rise after J&K was made a UT as per the reports. OGWs in the valley have also become active in providing logistics and information to the militant outfits. Things have gone from bad to worse as BJP govt has failed to curb the deteriorating situation in the valley. Where is the intelligentsia? The perpetrators are on a killing spree and you are just condemning the episodes only to absolve yourself from the prime responsibility of providing security to the citizens. Don’t deplore but act. The subversives should be identified and brought to justice”, Harsh took a jibe at the BJP.

Expressing anguish over the prevalent anarchy in J&K, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that that the anti-national and subversive elements had activated themselves to embark on a one point agenda to demolish the essence of co-existence and communal harmony in the valley. He said that they were hell bent to create the situation like early 90’s in J&K so as to toe the dictates of the secessionist forces operative in Kashmir. He alleged that the outside bureaucrats ruling the roost in J&K had been superficially drum beating over the return of peace in the valley deliriously oblivious of prevailing tensions. “The BJP govt has neither succeeded in mounting international pressure on rogue Pakistan to declare it a ‘terror state’ nor in providing security to the people which was your prime responsibility. Mere condemning the hostile neighbour would not absolve you from owing an explanation to the nation over the worst security lapse in the recent times. Stop treating J&K as a workshop. You have failed in your weird experiments on J&K. PM and HM should immediately resign on moral grounds in the interest of nation and its people”, Harsh castigated the GoI.

Mr. Yashpaul Kundal demanded compensation of Rs. 50 lacs to each killed besides security to the whole bereaved family members. He said that the targeted killings in the valley should be condemned at every forum and the miscreants should be identified and booked under the law at the earliest. Since the assurances of ‘Achey Din’ have fallen flat, the government must go, asserted Kundal.

Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Pratap, Rajeshwar Sambyal, Mohinder Singh, Surinder Chouhan, Ravinder Jamwal, Capt. Sultan Singh, Shankaar Singh Sanju, Rashpaul Singh, Ved Parkash Sharma, Munsha Singh, Sakinder Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Nand Lal, Gurdeep Singh besides others.
