Secy NFCH reviews status of ‘Project Assist financial scheme’ in Budgam


Srinagar, Dec 27 ( RNA) :Secretary National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH), Manoj Pant, accompanied by Assistant Secretary (NFCH), Ravi Shankar Tripathi and District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganaie reviewed the status of implementation of Project Assist financial assistance scheme for care and education of students rendered orphans or destitute here today.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, ACR, DSWO and students availing financial assistance under the scheme.

The Secretary while interacting with the students said that the meeting has been convened to get first hand appraisal of its implementation and to check deficiencies, if any. He said that presently131 students of Badgam district are connected with the NFCH, out of whom 57 students have completed their studies.

The Secretary called upon the concerned to identify and adopt new cases so that financial support is provided to maximum number of beneficiaries.

The Secretary said that NFCH also conducts exposure tours and provide opportunities to children to interact with students from other states.

Emphasizing on hard work, the Secretary asked students to study with dedication and become role models and source of inspirations for others.

On the occasion, DDC Budgam said that district administration is organizing a daylong counselling programme for these students on January 07 to provide career counselling.

DDC urged the NFCH to enhance financial assistance and raise age limit.

On the occasion, Assistant Secretary, giving details of the scheme, informed that the NFCH has been in operation since 2004, helping the beneficiaries to shape their lives. He asked students to directly contact foundation for assistance.RNA
