National Lok Adalats held across Baramulla District

Baramulla, May 14 (RNA): The District Legal Services Authorities (DLSA) Baramulla today organized National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex, Baramulla under the supervision of Principal District & Sessions Judge Baramulla Mohammad Yousuf Wani.
On the occasion, 12 benches were formed across the district during which 2802 cases of different natures were taken up, out of which more than 1900 cases were settled amicably on spot.
About 1.03 Crore rupees was also realized as the settlement amount for the said cases.
On the occasion, Principal District & Sessions Judge Baramulla said that Alternate Dispute Resolution system is one of the effective modes of disposal of cases and litigants should avail and participate in Lok Adalats as and when conducted by the courts.
On the occasion, the litigants and Bank officials were also made aware that other Lok-Adalats shall be held in the near future and pre-litigation as well as pending bank cases shall be taken for settlement. The Bank loan defaulter as well the bank officials were also made aware that in pre-litigation bank recovery cases, no Court fee, counsel fee is to be chargeable and hence the Lok Adalat is most appropriate method to settle the case without payment of any type Court fees as well as the other fees.
Meanwhile, similar Lok Adalats were also held at Sopore, Pattan, Uri, Rafiabad and Tangmarg during which cases with different natures were taken up for on spot settlement besides a large number of money was realized as the settlement amount.
